For those of you unfamiliar with John's work as a bookbinder, this Wordpress site https://sweetthames.wordpress.com/ details a design binding project that he set up. The 'About' page has a great many entries from Dad on the different stages of binding... and a lot of pictures of Dad's hands!

About the project

'This is a project where we will all rebind as a design binding a copy of Robert Gibbings Sweet Thames Run Softly. Among our group here in Gloucestershire we realised we would all enjoy working on a common project, favoured having to work to a deadline and welcomed the opportunity of exhibiting our work without it being judged.'

What a wonderful project to set up - to further the art of bookbinding in a non-competitive and supportive learning community, working towards a common goal but with freedom of expression.
